Ohio Voters Deliver Sweeping Wins for GOP Candidates

The November 6th midterm elections were predicted to be a “blue wave” by pundits and pollsters nationwide. The results of the midterms in Ohio proved to be anything but:

This is extremely good news for hardworking Ohioans across the state who are interested in protecting their hard-earned money from wasteful government spending. To this end, 19 of Ohio’s 21 Taxpayer Protection Pledge Signers won their election bids, with all of the incumbents on our list retaining their seats.

In fact, Ohio Republicans lost zero incumbent seats in the United States House of Representatives, retained control of the State Senate, and retained a supermajority of the State House.

House races that were predicted to be decided by thin margins proved to be easy wins for candidates like Rep. Troy Balderson , CD-12 (a Taxpayer Protection Pledge-Signer), who had just won an extremely close special election for the seat only two months earlier.

On top of this, we saw Republicans win their races for Governor, Attorney General, Auditor, Secretary of State, and Treasurer.

Attorney General and now Governor-elect Mike DeWine criticized his defeated opponent, Richard Cordray, throughout his campaign for promising new policies and programs without offering a plan to fund them. With DeWine’s win, Ohioans are protected from what would have been inevitable tax hikes under Cordray.

Tuesday’s results demonstrate that Ohioans are in clear support of the growth that tax reform has brought the state and support those who will not only protect, but work hard to build upon this progress.
